Tygerberg Hospital School

THS has, as recently as 2012, started specialized Grade R classes for learners with apraxia/dyspraxia (a motor coordination problem with neurological foundations, this also affects the ability to speak). The benefit of the school is that the classes have a maximum of 10 learners, and each class has a teacher as well as a teacher’s assistant. Both speech therapy and occupational therapy can be provided at the school, during school hours.

Sensory Kidzone has the privilege of having a satellite practice at Tygerberg Hospital School since 2015. We are privileged to have enough space to do Ayers Sensory Integration.

To ensure we keep therapy fun, child–directed and continue challenging the children enough, we change our equipment and bring in new games and equipment regularly.

Therapy at the school is provided on Tuesdays and / or Thursdays during the school term between 8:00 and 13:00. Occupational therapy is billed separately to the school fees by Sensory Kidzone. The referral, assessment and therapeutic process remains the same as our main practice, ensuring service quality.
